Flex Treats were developed to provide a palatable, easy-to-use, chewable tablet to help dogs and cats suffering from arthritis, hip displaysia, and other bone and joint abnormalities. Degeneration of the connective tissue, whether caused by age, or high levels of stress, dramatically affects how well an animal's joints function. Articular cartilage is critical to joint metabolism. Lubrication and shock absorption rely on intricate systems involving synovial fluid articular cartilage bone and soft tissue. The key lies in protecting the disturbed connective tissue and enhancing synovial fluid viscosity.

Glucosamine has become an accepted product in the pet market for its results in chronic joint disorders. Recent research shows glucosamine HCl provides joint protection better than glucosamine sulfate or chondroitin sulfate. It also shows glucosamine HCl alone possesses the ability to maintain healthy joint function as well as the glucosamine and chondroitin combination products.
